Glow Bug Cloth Diapers #GBGreenFam

I hope you all are enjoying the Green Family Giveaway hop! the #GBGreenfam giveaway still has a few more days so hurry and enter these great giveaways!

I know i've already told all of you about my Love of Glow Bug Cloth diapers, butI wanted to spread the word a little more for those who don't know. If someone were to ask me what my favorite pocket diapers were, it would be hands down Glow Bug cloth diapers! I tell everyone I can about Glow bugs and how amazing they are.

What is it that I love about Glow Bugs? So many things, here's a short list of why I love this diaper.
* Snap in insert. It doesn't wiggle around like other inserts or bunch up at one end (always the opposite end of where you need it on other diapers).
* The insert agitates out in the wash! I HATE pulling stinky wet icky inserts out of pocket diapers, its enough to make me not use pockets, but with Glow Bug Cloth diapers all you have to do is unsnap the insert and throw it in the washing machine. The moment of the washing machine slides the insert out.
* Double gussets. Double Gussets are the best thing to happen to cloth diapers in a long time. They really contain those nasty blow out diapers. Eva has definitely put our Glow Bug diapers to the test. She likes to challenge them to make sure they still work sometimes =)
*AMAZING Customer Service. Seriously. The BEST customer service ever. When I did my first review of Glow Bug Diapers I had a problem with the diaper they sent me, the elastic had come loose and the back was unsewen. They assured me it was a fluke and sent me a new one right away. Then a month or so after I wrote my review, somehow morgen lost my inserts. I emailed them to ask if I could buy some new ones, and they were so nice. They sent me two new inserts at no cost. Seriously its the best customer service ever! Their amazing customer service alone is enough to make me a life time customer and fan!

two rows of snaps

The only thing I thought was missing from Glow Bug cloth diapers before was that they didn't have a hip snap to prevent wing droop. Well guess what? Glow Bugs now have hip snaps! Heck Yeah! Seriously Glow Bugs are the perfect diaper! I love them so much! And whats even better? Glow Bugs is sponsoring the grand prize of the Green Family Event! One winner will receive a whole stash of Glow Bug Diapers! How exciting is
that!

IF you aren't the winner of the Glow Bug Green Family Giveaway, you can buy Glow bug Diapers for $150 right on my side bar! I love them so much I'm an affiliate for them.

Pre Order your girl or boy prints now for Shipping in October and get FREE Shipping!

Glow Bug has come out with some totally adorable new prints both boy and girl, as well as a super cute ugly sweater themed special edition diaper. Seriously check out the cuteness.

I am planning on buying the new girl prints as soon as I get a check from the state of CA i've been waiting on for 3 months, but I also want to get a set of boy prints, I really think the boy prints are gender neutral and would look adorable on Eva. I have no problem putting an adorable wrench diaper on my girls, especially since I plan on teaching them how to fix stuff so they don't have to rely on others to do it for them.

Go check out all the new prints Glow bug Diapers has to offer, Like them on Facebook , then head on over to Formula Mom and enter to win a full stash

Disclosure: I received a Glow Bug Cloth Diaper for the purpose of writing this review, all views are my own ad I would never recommend any product I would not personally use.

Sponsor spotlight: EG Baby Designs Natural Newborn Giveaway hop

For a while we were trying to find the perfect night time diaper for Eva. The AIOs we had would stink to high heaven by the morning, most of the pockets would leak, and I was just getting frustrated. One of my friends told me to try fitteds. So I went searching. I really like to buy from WAHM's, I find the quality is usually better, and you can always talk to them about what works and what doesn't. I was turned onto EG baby design by another WAHM diaper company that I follow on Facebook. EG Baby design was selling testers of her new fitted, so I bought a size 1 for Eva. Oh My Gosh! It was amazing, no leaks, no nasty smell, they were super easy to clean. I loved it! So when it came time to find a sponsor for this giveaway hop, you better believe I contacted EG Baby Designs!
Not only are her diapers AMAZING, and totally affordable, but they are totally customizable, and OH SO SOFT! I line dry my diapers and then throw my fitteds and inserts in the dryer for a quick fluff, but even right off the line my EG Diaper is so soft!. For this review I was able to pick which color of cotton Velour I wanted as well as what color snaps. Since we call Eva our little bumble bee, I asked for Black Velour with yellow snaps, and she lined it with a beautiful yellow velour. I was so seriously excited when this diaper came and ran inside to do a load of diapers right away so I could put it on Eva ASAP!

The Diaper I got for eva is a size 2 it fits 15 lbs to 40+ lbs. The Size 1 fitted we have fits Newborn to 18 lbs. Eva is just under 15 lbs and this diaper fits great. She is on the lowest rise setting and the tabs overlap. On the size one she is on the highest rise setting (completely unsnapped) and she still has a few waist snaps to move out to.

Eva's got little chunker legs so there is no gap at the leg holes, but if you have a thin baby who is around 14 lbs you probably want to go with the size 1, as the leg holes are smaller.

The inside of the diaper has a snap in soaker that is so soft against her little bum! I'm almost sad to cover it with our bio degradable liners. Almost, I'm not a fan of dunk and swish and our diaper sprayer hasn't arrived yet. But when it does, I will probably stop using the liner with this diaper because its so nice and cozy on her bottom!

The diaper is huge when completely unsnapped, I tried it on Tabitha who weighs roughly 32 lbs and she still had a few waist snaps to go so I believe that it will go to 40 lbs.

Eva, was not all that into modeling for me when I took the pictures, She just wanted to go to sleep, no smiles from her. But she definitely gave this diaper a work out. If she's not going to sleep right after I put a fitted on her I like to let her go without a cover so he skin can breathe more. She rolled and face crawled (She still can't seem to get the hands and legs right so she uses her face to move her self along) all over our bed and there wasn't a sing gap or leak.
I am absolutely in Love with the EG Baby Design fitted diapers, so much so that I just bought two more when she opened up a co-op order this month.
This is one of my new diapers on the way to me!
And this is the other one.

EG Baby design doesn't just do fitted either! Check out some of the super cute items in her store

This is a size 3-6 month top with a matching size 1 AI2 with a bamboo insert.

Size 1 AI2. If it had been a size 2 I would have jumped all over this one!

This is a fitted with a tester cover. She is still working on the design of the covers, so for right now all she has available is testers.

A Size 2 pocket with a bamboo insert

You can check out all the colors for the fitted diapers here.

Make sure you like EG Baby Design on Facebook.   And follow her on Pinterest as well!

One Lucky winner will win a custom made Fitted Diaper from EG Baby Design in the Natural Newborn Giveaway starting on the 17th! Make sure you like EG Baby Design on Facebook and pinterst now so you can claim those entries on the Rafflecopter form!

Good Luck and Go check out all the amazing stuff she has in her shop!

Disclosure, I was given this diaper for free for the purpose of this review. I would never recommend a product I would not personally use. I stand behind this review.

I love the double pocket opening of the baby babu diaper. The insert snaps in in front and you just unsnap it when your done and throw it in the wash. It will agitate right out.

Love the hip snap to prevent wing droop.

Eva looks so adorable in her bright pink diaper!

Summer Blog Challenge 26-31

So I'm pretty behind on my summer blog challenge posts, I've just been swamped lately so i'm gonna try to bang out all my over due ones in one post tonight! Ready?

Day 26  What does your significant other do that makes your heart melt?
Before having kids, I probably would have said that it was how Morgen is always doing little things, like slipping a love note on my front seat or picking a flower on his way home. He still does those things and I still love those things, but whats more heart melt worthy is how amazing he is with the girls. When Tabitha wants to play tea party, or dress up he is right there doing what she wants, but he is also amazing at teaching our girls the right thing to do . I love when he come home at night and Tabitha yells "Daddy! Your back!" and runs and gives him a hug and the first thing he does is cover her in hugs and kisses. Melts my heart every time.

Day 27 What's the best gift you've ever received?
The best gift I ever received? My two beautiful girls! Without a doubt. We waited so long for them, and I couldn't have imagined any more amazing girls.
Tabitha and her HUGE cheeks!

Eva ever the cuddlier baby!

My two sweet girls

Day 28 How do you do your laundry?? Give your laundry tricks.

We make our own laundry soap (Via Tipnut)

1 quart Water (boiling)
2 cups Bar soap (grated)
2 cups Borax
2 cups Washing Soda
  • Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until soap is melted. You can keep on low heat until melted.
  • Pour the soapy water mixture into a large, clean pail and add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well until all is dissolved.
  • Add 2 gallons of water, stir until well mixed.
  • Cover pail and use 1/4 cup for each load of laundry. Stir the soap each time you use it (will gel).
I use this for everyday laundry and wash on cold with an extra rinse then dry in the dryer. I also throw in a scoop of sun oxyclean.
For Cloth Diapers I use Rockin Green. I do a cold rinse with no detergent. A hot wash with two scoops of hard rock detergent and every 3 loads I do a scoop of calgon because we have really hard water. Then I do two rinse cycles, one hot and one cold. Then I line dry my diapers and throw the inserts and wipes in the dryer.

Day 29 Write a "How To" post
I'm working on this one and will post it soon.

Day 30 Post a photo of an outfit that either is your style or you wish was your style.
These are the kinds of dresses I love, and I actually have a few this style but they are kind of hard to nurse in so I don't wear them often.

More often than not, I wear a skirt with a camisole and a cardigan.

Day 31 Talk about something eco friendly that you already do.

Some of the Ecofriendly things we already do are:

  • Cloth Diapering
  • Recycling
  • Buying used clothes and toys rather than new
  • Walk as much as we can rather than drive
  • repurpose whatever we can. Usually clothes.

Summer blog Challenge day 23-25

Summer blog challenge

Sorry I got behind again! So here are days 23-25

Day 23 favorite blog post you've written before this challenge. Probably my pretty in Pink Lace Dress tutorial. I love that dress and it was my first tutorial to be featured on Craft Gossip.

Day 24 Favorite eco-friendl thing you do. We try to be pretty eco friendly. we have a brita filter and take reusable bottles with us, we recycle anything we can. I like to re use loathing items to turn them into something else, usually clothes for Tabitha, but I've also repurposed some of my own clothes for my self since i've lost weight. I turned a way too big top into a maternity shirt and turned my favorite jeans that got a hole in the thigh into a jean skirt. But the thing I do most often that is eco friendly is cloth diapering. I'm amazed at how much garbage we produced by using disposables on Tabitha and besides saving money, cloth diapers don't sit in landfills for 100's of years. And besides who can resist those cute fluffy butts! =)

Day 25 Ideal day of Me time

Ha whats that? Even on Saturday which is supposed to me my "me day" where I can get my sewing and blog stuff done that didn't get done during the week, i still have to have Eva with me (Morgen does take Tabitha, but she usually stands at the bottom of the stairs yelling at me most of the day until I give up and come down), and I usually end up getting half my list done if that because Eva is going through a very needy stage and I think about to cut a tooth.
But if I could have a whole day to myself with out having to do cleaning or taking care of kids, I would turn on some silly trashy tv show like damsons creek or one tree hill (darn netflix doesn't have the last season and I want to finish it!) Or something cheesy and creepy like the original Dark Shadows (I watched that while nursing today and I'm hooked although netflix only has a small fraction of the series, they start when barnabis collins returns and then only have 160 of the 2000 something episodes.) I would watch my shows, and sew all day. Stoping to eat dryers all fruit bars, drink newmans own lemonaid. and snack on mike and ikes.
