So Cool!
So this morning I got in the car to go to my visiting teaching and the radio was tuned to KLCE 97.3 and I noticed the coolest thing, They have a program called the sounds of Sunday It was really cool that a secular radio station plays motab and other church music with uplifting stories. It was so awesome to be able to hear uplifting music in a place I least expected. Just one more pretty cool thing about living in Rexburg.

30 before i'm 30
Ok so i'm turning 30 this year, (i'll wait while you scream). Its ok, i've accepted it. I'm good really... So to keep my mind off the fact that i'm leaving my 20's (and surrounded by people way younger than myself, since rexburg is a pretty young kind of place) i've made a list of 30 things i want to do before I turn 30 on June 30th!
1.Sew something from my own pattern and enter it in a contest. (Entered into the little blue boo/dharma trading contest. Didn't even place but at least I tried.)
2.Write a toutorial for one of my patterns.
3. Get family pictures taken. (the last ones were from when Tabitha was 8 months old)
4. Sew Tabitha's quilt, sheets, pillows and curtains.
5. buy an actual kitchen table (we've always had card tables in our kitchen)
6. Take a Pattern making class
7. Sew something for myself
8. Get Tabitha's room set up (we moved in last month, but her room is still mostly boxes)
9. Get Tabitha to sleep in her "big girl bed"
10. Go on a date with morgen, and get a sitter for Tabitha
11.Actually finish the last season of Lost (Thank you NETFLIX!)
12. Build a piece of furniture for our house
13. Make Tabitha dress up clothes
14. Get a Massage
15. Take a Cake decorating class
16.Sew most of Tabitha's summer clothes (so I don't have to buy them!)
17. Use up most of my fabric stash before the end of the year.
18. Go to Bear world (Its in Idaho Falls and I'm so intrigued!)
19. Make and can my own Jam
20. Index 1000 names on Family Search.
21.Get rid off all the boxes from our move
22. Get a make over
23. Put enough money away to buy myself a silhouette for my birthday.
24.Learn to use all the feet that came with my sewing machine.
25. Put all of our pictures up in the house.
26. Order the touch up paint for my car and fix the scratches on the bumper.
27. make seat covers for the car and Tabitha's car seat.
28. Figure out what i'm making for christmas presents and have them all started by my birthday (so I have 6 months to get them done)
29.Take a photography class.
30. Potty Train Tabitha!
So there you have it, I have about 4 months to get this all done if I want to do it before I turn 30. So we'll see how it goes!

Tabitha's 1940's party outfit.
I’ve been reading a blog lately called Project Run and Play. Its an awesome blog where blogers were chosen to compeate in a project Runway type compition for children’s clothing. Each week they are given a theme and they make an outfit, then readers and a panel of celebrety judges choose a winner. I found out about it because a friend of mine Jessica of Craftiness is not optional and a designer I like Ashley from Little Blu Boo were both asked to be contestents. Unfortunately Jessica was cut, but I’m still routing for Little Blu Boo! This weeks challenge was retro and vintage inspired designs. One of the things I like so much about this blog is that they encourage readers to submit their own designs. I’ve been interested in doing one but I’ve been so busy with the move that I really didnt have any time. This time I was super encouraged to do this challencge. When I think of vintage I automaticly think of the 1940s. And when I think of little girls int he 1940s I think of Molly Macintire from the American Girls Collection. When I was younger I had all the books and one year My mom bought me a Molly doll for Christmas. I still have her and her accessories in storage for Tabitha when she’s old enough (to not ruin her) to play with her. So I took a look at the American Girl website at the Molly clothes. I found this super cute dress. Its the Molly Party outfit. I love how cute it is!
I love the little placket and the lace around the collar. Collars have always been hard for me but I managed to not screw it up totally! haha.
For Tabitha’s 1940’s party outfit I used some super cute turqoise fabric with a cute grey design that I got at Michael Levine in LA the last time I visited my sister. I used some plain grey fabric for the placket and the ties. It turned out well, if not a little big. I also chaged the skirt a little, I made the back elasticised instead of using a zipper and I used snaps on the back of the shirt rather than velcro. unfortunately the neck is a little big and the shirt is a little long. I’m thinking i’m going to take it up a little. I also think I want to shorten the skirt a little too. But Instead of talking it to death I’ll show you =)
Moving
Its been a while since i’ve posted, but i’ve been super busy. After Christmas we drove down to see my mom in Arizona, We were there for a week, and then Morgen left for Rexburg. The day before Morgen left, My mom got sick, the day Morgen left he wound up getting sick, and the next day I got sick. It was a horrible week of sickness for all of us.
Tabitha and I ended up staying for a week and a half after morgen left. Then my mom and I drove to Morgan Hill so that we could pack all the rest of Morgen and my stuff up and we could pack the moving truck. With a lot of help from Shelby and the Missionaries we were able to get it all packed up. The day we left I took the car to get checked out, oil changed and so forth. We didn’t end up leaving until after 2:30 so we only drove to Reno the first day and we stayed at the El Dorato (thanks to hotwire.com we only paid $19 a room!) We had a super yummy dinner and breakfast at the buffet. The next day we drove from Reno to Rexburg, it took us 15 hours to make the drive, I drove most of the way because I get so car sick, but I started having a back spazzim about 4 hours from Rexburg that was so bad I ended up having a pannic attack wich made the back pain worse. We ended up staying at a subway resturant for about an hour. Then my mom drove the rest of the way. We got to our house just after midnight saturday morning. My mom had to take the Salt Lake express sunday morning and then took a plane home.
Morgen and I had to wait till Friday for the truck to get here and get our bed. I was so tired of sleeping on the floor so I was so excited to get our bed! Some of the guys in the ward came over to help empty the truck for us. Then I emptied most of the boxes by wedensday. The Downstairs looks pretty good, but Tabitha’s room still has about 15 boxes in it. The bathroom has 2 the hallway has 1 our room has 2 and the kitchen has 4. Tabitha’s toddler bed still isn’t set up, but I’m hoping we can get it taken care of soon since Tabitha’s been supper kicky lately and I’m not sleeping well. Plus she woke up and tried to climb out of bed twice both times falling out of bed. The first time she cut her lip really bad, the second time luckily she fell on some blankets I had put on the floor just in case. Our little bed gates aren’t really doing anything these days. =(
Tabitha is seeming to enjoy the snow, although she seems to not understand that its cold, and after a little bet she freaks out. But she (and I) loves to walk on the thin ice and crack it. However I don’t like walking on the 3 inches of ice that is our parking lot.
Its been rediculously cold here. Aparently I do that to weather. When we moved to Morgan Hill it was the hotest summer in years, apparently its not usually as cold as its been here recently too. The other morning I had to go with morgen to school, and we couldent understand why it felt so cold! But when we got inside and I checked the weather it turns out it was -15! Crazy! I’m hoping that the weather channel knows what they are talking about because they said its supposed to be getting a little warmer.
We are really excited to be in our own home and we are trying to get adjusted.
